I started cutting hair as a teenager because I was tired of leaving other people's chairs and fixing what they'd done the moment I got home. My friends noticed. They started asking. One favor became a calling. Twenty-eight years later, I still believe the same thing I believed at sixteen: your hair deserves more thought than the hour you spent in the chair, and the person holding the scissors should treat your head as something singular, because it is.
